In a nutshell
My career in sports broadcasting has been anything but boring. Starting out at 702 in the late 1990's, my almost 30 years in media has spanned across various platforms, including 5 years at tv Sports Broadcaster SuperSport. I am currently in what I call "the best and most surreal chapter of my life". I am the sports anchor on 2 of Johannesburg's biggest radio shows: 947's Anele and the Club & Talk Radio 702's Breakfast with Bongani Bingwa (yes simultaneously).
I have travelled the world with my job and could not have asked for a better career. I mean, what's not cool about being paid to watch sport?
Behind the scenes I have a passion for psychology, mental health and working with the youth. I volunteer as a lay-counsellor for various organisations in Johannesburg.
People wanting to work in the ever-changing radio industry, have asked me what the secret to a long career is. I believe that no matter which line of work you find yourself in: you have to be consistent in your work, dedicated and committed - while remaining authentic and staying true to who you are.
